'We started out on a stand at a local Shropshire market with our unique sharing cakes ‘Tweeners’ which were so irresistible they sold out! Since then we have created many more delicious innovations for you to enjoy including Merangz & Custardz. All of our products are handmade in Shropshire with the best quality available ingredients, natural flavours and British free range eggs.'
Starting with the ' 5 fruit' meringue first. The 5 meringue come in 5
different flavours (obvs haha) those flavours are Lemon, Passion
fruit, Lime, strawberry, and cherry.
The meringues were SO true to flavour, I cannot even explain how much they taste like the fruit, the lemon for example was spot on. None of the meringues have a over powering taste to it, just enough for you to taste the flavour. Now, its not the greatest idea to be taking photos of meringue
when looking after an 18 month-year-old. Yup, my nephew was ALL OVER
these meringues. He neither has ever tried meringue, so once I was happy
with the photos that I had taken I let my nephew be the first to do the taste
test. He loved them all but passion fruit was his favourite, the kid
devoured it! I don't have a least favourite out of these meringues but
my favourite was cherry. I HATE eating cherries, but I enjoyed this flavour alot as meringue.
The white chocolate and Raspberry meringue is the definition of
'#foodporn' someone had even commented 'this is a work of art' on my
Instagram photo of it! It is possibly the prettiest piece of food I have
ever laid eyes on. If it was on Great British Bake Off that would
100% get star baker! I'm not a HUGE fan of chocolate, but white chocolate.. I love! Its something about white chocolate that makes me want to eat
more and more of it. The meringue is huge too! Myself and my oldest brother
both tucked into one after dinner and loved it! It would taste even more fab with some whipped cream or a sprinkle of raspberries on top. Still tastes delish plain!
There were 8 individual vanilla pavlovas, I decided to get some
inspiration from the Flower and White website. They have an image of different fruits and cream on one.. so I decided to use my
artistic skills to decorate the pavs and oh mY GOSH! Decorating is so
much harder than it seems. I had a struggle with using the whipped
cream, I would squirt it and 10 seconds later it would have melted! So I
gave my nephew the pavlova that had melted cream on so I could perfect a
pretty pav. I kind of mastered it on my second attempt. I decided to
cut up raspberries and pop a few blueberries on top of the whipped cream
and Voila! Here is my masterpiece haha.
Oh, and btw it tastes AMAZING! I think my nephew enjoyed it too! (He was absolutely COVERED in it by the end of it.)
I decided not to go absolutely crazy with the decoration of the giant chocolate pavlova. I cut some strawberries up and placed them on top, just to add a bit more flavour.. because who doesn't love eating strawberries and chocolate!?
What made me really enjoy these even more was the fact that they are gluten free! You've probably seen me go on and on about pizza and burgers but for the past 3 months, I haven't been able to eat anything that contains gluten/ wheat! It had gotten so bad that I would work a 9-hour shift and not eat a single thing! I was too scared of eating, mostly because I was so unsure of what was gluten free. I would never have even thought of checking the packaging to food before, if I liked the look of something I would scoff my face. Oh, how times have changed!
As there is SO much meringue I have literally been taking some to work to eat it at lunch. Haha.
I plan on getting my nephew a giant passion fruit meringue for his birthday and also a white chocolate and raspberry meringue for my birthday... because seeing as I can no longer eat a sponge cake I need some sort of desert!
Check out Flower and White! They not only do Meringue and Pavlova they also have muffins, 'tweeners' and custard!
